The new RIM R
Completely new design elements extend the Modul R range

As a more solidly built reinterpretation and consistent extension of the minimalistic Modul R range, the new Nimbus Rim R range fascinates the beholder with its formal reduction and brand new design elements. With its design for the Rim R range, the ID AID design studio has succeeded in reinterpreting the iconic Nimbus LED.next Modul.

Design and functionality

Design and functionality are narrowly intertwined in this luminaire: the slim luminaire body made of translucent acrylic glass – held by an almost invisible bearing – virtually hovers within the silver-anodised or brilliant white ring element. Three different diameters, with various heights, allow a great many possible applications.

The Rim R recently won the “Interior Innovation Award 2012” from the German Design Council.

The Rim R is rotatable and tiltable and can be used as a ceiling or wall luminaire for spatial accentuation as well as in groups and larger ensembles. The contours of the cut-out frame fit flush with the magnetically mounted cover.

Range of uses

Dank ihrer ästhetisch-reduzierten Wirkung fügt sich die Rim R harmonisch in jedes architektonische Umfeld ein. Die Rim R ist dreh- und schwenkbar und kann als Decken- oder Wandleuchte zur räumlichen Akzen­tuie­rung aber auch in Gruppen und größeren Ensembles eingesetzt werden. Somit eignet sich die Rim R-Serie zur akzentuierten Beleuchtung oder Ausleuchtung von Kunst oder Gemälden.

Thanks to its aesthetically reduced effect, the Rim blends harmoniously into any kind of architectural surroundings. The Rim R is rotatable and tiltable and can be used as a ceiling or wall luminaire for spatial accentuation as well as in groups and larger ensembles, making it particularly suitable for the accentuated lighting or illumination of art or paintings.
